On behalf of our client a local manufacturing company, we are looking for a Site Support Officer. This is a 7 month Fixed Term contract to cover maternity leave. Working hours are on a shift basis (current rota is two weeks of Early Shifts (07:00-15:30) followed by one week of Late Shifts (09:00-17:30) on a three week rota). You must have a clean valid driving licence for this role.
The primary aims of the Site Support Coordinator are to control site access, monitor and maintain security of premises, respond to and manage emergency situations whilst also delivering a high level of customer service and varied support functions to all employees, visitors and service providers at our sites in Southend. Security advice and support is also provided remotely to other UK subsidiaries.
The goal of the Site Support department is to maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff and third parties to work in, ensuring that on-site working procedures are adhered to, and to also provide value-added support solutions which allow staff to focus on their core duties.
1.CCTV & Access Control:
Controlling access to sites and restricted areas for staff, visitors and service providers. Daily management and operation of our CCTV & Access Control systems, issuing of keys, keeping records and abiding by company guidelines with regards to data protection and the release of confidential information. Daily management of vehicle access, parking and egress.
Overseeing the security of all sites in Southend, addressing/escalating matters as appropriate, creating reports and keeping records of daily occurrences. Dealing with any security incidents in line with company procedures. Conducting security searches of individuals as required.
3.Third Party Management:
Daily management of on-site Service Providers and Visitors to sites. Ensuring necessary approvals, documentation and notifications have been received prior to issuing passes, keys, work permits etc. Greeting staff, service providers and visitors to site in a professional & welcoming manner.
Daily management and operation of fire & intruder alarm systems. Responding to faults & activations, disabling zones, carrying out site investigations, problem solving, resetting systems, arranging engineer / emergency services attendance, completing records as required.
5.First Aid & Other Emergencies:
Responding to emergency callouts, administering first aid (as per training), managing the situation, liaising with emergency services, completing records, restocking first aid kits as required.
Management of other emergency situations (including evacuations; in-vacuations; lift passenger rescue; spill control; business continuity, legal right of entry and other on-site emergency scenarios), following company procedures and instructions, completing necessary documentation, escalating the matter as required.
6.Routine Duties, Checks & Inspections:
Conducting regular routine inspections for security, safety and housekeeping reasons (such as Legionella; Plant & Server rooms, Fire Doors, Building Patrols, Radio Alarm functions, Vehicle checks, other duties as deemed required).
7.Manual Handling Duties:
Such as wastepaper collection, clearing external pathways during adverse weather, and other daily activities involving manual lifting.
Driving various company vehicles to carry out deliveries/collections between sites and to local addresses, transporting visitors and staff to/from local destinations.
Including managing bookings for taxi requests, pool vehicles, service provider visits etc. Also creating reports using Word / Excel and other bespoke systems, in addition to sending and receiving emails.
Other ad-hoc duties: As deemed required by the business. Travelling on rare occasions may be a requirement.
The role requires you to be on your feet for extended periods of time during your general day to day activities which include walking between sites, up/down staircases, visiting plant rooms, roof spaces and other areas within sites.
- Experience in a customer facing role, including resolving issues and problems is essential. Experience in a Security role is desirable.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, such as Word; Excel; Outlook; Teams
- Strong customer focus and service skills
- Flexibility to work additional hours to support the needs of the business when required
- Ability to work as part of a team and on their own using their initiative
- Required to attend various training courses to support the job role
- Ability to follow processes and procedures
- Full driving licence required
- Full First Aid Certificate to be maintained
- Conflict Management & Various other in-house training to be completed
